Use File Manager in MySheerID

The File Manager provides a secure inbox within MySheerID for sharing protected information. Use this article for instructions on how to download, upload, and delete files.

Only users with Reporter and Customer PII permission roles can see the File Manager icon and access the inbox. You can upload .csv, .jpg, .pdf, .png, .txt, .xls, and .zip files. Each file can be up to 200MB.

Access the File Manager

  1. Log in to your MySheerID account
  2. Select the File Manager icon. This is located in the bottom left of the navigation bar

On this page, users can see any files that are available for download or deletion. You also have the option to upload new files.

Download files

  1. Find the file you need in the list
  2. Select Download from the menu on the right

The file will download immediately to your default destination. The status badge will change from New to Downloaded.

Upload files

  1. Click on the Upload button
  2. Click Browse to select a file from your computer

  3. If you need to change the file before finishing, select the overflow menu in the corner of the file selector to replace or delete it
  4. Click Upload when you are ready
  5. A confirmation message will appear. Click Ok to return to the File Manager page

Delete files

  1. Click the overflow menu next to the file you want to remove
  2. Select Delete

  3. A success message will appear and the file will be removed from the list

Deleting a file is permanent. Once you delete a file, you can no longer access it or see it in your list.

Use cases

The File Manager provides a safe way to share sensitive information that you should not send through email. You can use this tool to exchange data that needs to stay protected.

Common use cases for the File Manager include the following:

  • Sharing user account information for bulk verification tasks
  • Receiving personally identifiable information (PII) from SheerID
  • Providing access tokens required to set up DataConnectors
  • Passing any secure, permissioned data required for your verification programs
